Koehler Group Sustainability Manager Receives Award for Extraordinary Commitment from 4evergreen Alliance
At the fifth 4evergreen annual conference in Brussels on November 6th, 2024, Koehler Group Sustainability Manager Jens Kriete received an award for his extraordinary contributions to the alliance’s “Information” workstream.
The prize was meant to honor Kriete's commitment in the area of public affairs, in which he continues to take the various complex findings and insights from various technical workgroups and translate them into instructive, easy-to-digest messages that help keep members and policymakers informed. The 4evergreen alliance features over 100 companies that engage with various aspects along the entire lifecycle of fiber-based packaging, including not only the Koehler Group, but also Amazon, UPM, Voith, DOW, Henkel, Procter & Gamble, Ikea, Palm, and Elopak. “We are pleased to award Jens with this years Outstanding Contributor Award. His proactive work and valuable discussions on the institutional updates and the PPWR have been incredibly helpful and greatly appreciated at 4evergreen,” said 4evergreen Program Director Susanne Haase.
The Koehler Group has been a member of the 4evergreen alliance since 2020, and accordingly is part of the corresponding objective of achieving a 90% recycling rate for fiber-based packaging by 2030. “Our participation in 4evergreen’s activities gives us an invaluable opportunity to push sustainable recyclable packaging solutions more effectively. The flexible packaging paper products that make up our NexFlex® brand make us trailblazers in this area, not to mention that this means we’re actively contributing to achieving 4evergreen’s ambitious goals,” says Jens Kriete. Moreover, the group’s membership in the alliance is also helpful to the former’s sustainability strategy, which among other things contemplates for customers to achieve a reduction of 80% in their CO2 emissions by 2030 with Koehler products.
