Koehler Group Works Council Grants Christmas Wishes for the 19th Year Running
Once again this year, the Koehler Group local Works Council from Oberkirch and Kehl organized a Christmas tree campaign in collaboration with the charities Caritas and Diakonie. Christmas wishes were collected from those in need around the region for the campaign. The Christmas tree campaign at Koehler Group is the longest-running of its kind in the region and is now in its 19th year. The gifts were handed over by representatives of the Works Council to Claudia Ebert from Caritas and to Cordula Rettig and Claudia Schnebel from Diakonie.
Koehler Group Employees Grant 100 Christmas Wishes
In each of the previous two years, the wishes were published in digital form on Koehler Group’s intranet. This was introduced out of necessity at the height of the pandemic, and has since become standard procedure. Now that all our colleagues in Kehl and Oberkirch can view the wishes, it is easier for them to participate in this fantastic initiative. Koehler employees were able to select whatever wish they wanted to fulfill, The gifts requested by the needy included warm clothing, toys, food packages, and cosmetics—all items that many of us take for granted, but which often represent a major investment for people in need.
Within a few weeks, all of the gifts were gathered in the office of the Works Council, and then proudly handed over to Caritas and Diakonie. Group Works Council Chair Martin Spraul was thrilled with the success of the initiative: “Once again this year, many Koehler Group employees were keen to do some good at Christmastime. As the Works Council, we are delighted to see that community spirit is still clearly very much in evidence today.” The helpers from Caritas and Diakonie will now distribute the gifts to the families who have submitted a wish list. After all, there is no greater gift than seeing the smiles on recipients’ faces, which is why the Koehler Christmas Tree Initiative brings joy to all those involved.
