Koehler Paper Honored as “Employer That Significantly Supports Civil Defense Volunteer Efforts”
The Koehler Paper site in Kehl was recently recognized as an “employer that significantly supports civil defense volunteer efforts” (“Ehrenamtsfreundlicher Arbeitgeber im Bevölkerungsschutz” in the original German) by the German state of Baden‐Württemberg. With this designation, the state honors companies that support employees in the performance of their civil defense volunteer duties. At a ceremony in Freudenstadt, Deputy Minister President and State Minister of the Interior of Baden‐Württemberg Thomas Strobl presented a total of 32 companies with a certificate documenting this honor.
“I’d like to effusively thank all the employers who take effective action to encourage and help volunteers fulfill their duties in Baden‐Württemberg. They’re the ones who keep our state running,” Thomas Strobl said.
The Koehler Paper Kehl site was nominated by the Kehl volunteer fire brigade, of which a number of members are Koehler Paper employees who work at the Kehl site. “We’re really proud of this honor. Not only do we appreciate the volunteer work of our team members tremendously, but also have a long tradition of having Koehler play an active role in volunteer activities. In fact, the Koehler Group has had its own plant fire brigade for more than 100 years,” said Joachim Uhl, Mill Director at the Koehler Paper site in
Kehl.
